Julie will be one of five authors to speak at the "And the Women Gather" Literary Jazz Brunch to benefit the Footprints Foundation

The "And the Women Gather" Literary Jazz Brunch will be held at the Ritz Carlton in Coconut Grove, Florida on March 17, 2012.  Proceeds from the event will benefit the Footprints Foundation, which was created by attorney and former Dade County prosecutor Lorna Owens to benefit women rape victims in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. To learn more about the amazing work of Lorna and her organization, purchase tickets to the lunch, and find out how you can help, visit the Footprints Foundation website

Julie named Florida Writers Association's Person of Renown for its 2012 FWA Collection #4!

The theme for the 2012 FWA Collection is "My Wheels." Members of FWA are invited to submit stories for the anthology collection that relate to this theme. Sixty stories will be published in the collection. Julie will pick her ten favorites and will also be submitting a story of her own. The "My Wheels" collection will be unveiled at next year's FWA annual conference, October 19 - 21, 2012. Visit the Florida Writers Association website to learn more about the organization and the upcoming collection.

Prompted: Stories, Poems and Essays from Greater Philadelphia Wordshop Studio, an anthology that explores the human condition via poetry, personal essays, and fiction, was released on May 22, 2010.

Among the many wonderful pieces of writing by current and former participants of Alison Hick's Philadelphia Wordshop Studio workshops, you'll find a chapter from Julie's work-in-progress, the sequel to TELL NO LIES (tentatively titled KEEP NO SECRETS).

Prompted can be ordered through your local bookstore or at Amazon.com. Proceeds from the sale of Prompted support Philadelphia Stories Magazine, a great literary resource for Philadelphia area writers, and help to keep it a free publication.
